Diving with SEAL

Come scuba diving with SEAL to the Similan and Surin Islands in Thailand, the Mergui Archipelago in Burma (Myanmar), the Sangihe Archipelago in Indonesia and the Andaman Islands of . We run small group liveaboard diving trips on sailing yachts in south East Asia.

What better way to explore this diving heaven than by sailing yacht. Imagine cruising on a turquoise sea, island hopping from dive site to dive site. Between dives, with the blessing of a breeze, we hoist the sails, sit back and capture magical moments when dolphins come to join us, riding the bow wave. The combination of lazy days on board a sailing yacht, diving in warm crystal clear waters and being pampered by a friendly professional crew is one of the reasons that so many people return for a repeat performance. Similan and Surin Islands (Thailand)

Similan Islands: A cluster of nine islands about fifty five nautical miles north west of Phuket, is Thailand’s premier dive destination. They offer a great diversity of marine life and undersea terrain. The islands themselves have some of the most stunning above-water surrounds in Asia, with dazzling turquoise water, white sand beaches and secluded bays framed by rocky headlands.

The Surin Islands are another sixty nautical miles further on from the Similan Islands. A group of five islands, with Richelieu Rock being twelve nautical miles to the east. This whole area offers excellent diving, with the above and below water characteristics being quite different to the Similans. Richelieu Rock is famous for whale sharks, being one of the few places in the world for regular sightings.

Mergui Islands (Burma/Myanmar)

Comprising over eight hundred islands and covering an area of ten thousand square miles, these pristine islands had, until January 1997, been closed to all foreigners for well over fifty years. This vast area is incredibly beautiful and totally untouched by modern development, with a rich history of maritime trade, mysticism and piracy. The modern-day Mergui Archipelago is as it was in days gone by, bar the piracy! Due to the archipelago’s virtual isolation, the islands and surrounding seas are alive with an amazing diversity of wildlife –great for sharks, flora and fauna.

Sangihe Archipelago, North Sulawesi (Indonesia)

Off the north east peninsular of Sulawesi Indonesia lies a chain of volcanic islands called the Sangihe-Talaud Archipelago, an area comprising approximately forty volcanic islands covered in coconut plantations, some of which are over fifteen hundred meters high. The waters surrounding these islands are some of deepest in the world – amazingly good visibility. Ranks amongst the best diving in the world.
